Black Actors

Being an actor takes hard work and dedication. Making it as an African American actor is harder. Landing roles is difficult when you have certain producers who may not feel a black actor does not fill the criteria. They also have to worry about if they look the part to get the job. Some Hollywood producers are guilty of not casting black actors because of the color of their skin or mainly because they just do not want them in the movie or show.

Actors today take a stand against racial injustice in acting. They want to be casted in more movies and tv shows. The Oscars are a good example of racial injustice against black actors. Chris Rock being the host of 2016’s Oscars, noticed the show was being whitewashed and not really catering to the African American actors. Out of all the black actors and actresses no one has won an Oscar for the year of 2016.

Black actors want to be notice by their achievements and performances. They want to see a lot of different actors prosper and have things to show for it. All African American actors want is to be noticed and to look good doing it no matter the setting their in.
